The Consultation Process

• This phase is important to help both parties decide if the ‘fit’ is right

2. Read the disclaimer and signal your agreement

• In child cases, agreement to the legal disclaimer is pre-requisite

3. Arrange details for the consultation

• In child cases a date/time to carry out the consult
• In organisational ones, a spec will be prepared for discussion/agreement

<aside> 💡 Disclaimer: I need to make clear that I’ve never met the child and/or family concerned and therefore can only comment based on the information you share with me on the phone or conference call. I’m not a clinician. My training is in social work and criminology. For a full and proper assessment of all the issues I recommend engaging a clinical psychologist or appropriate professional, preferably alongside a full time lining exercise around the child’s life to date.
